Are you called to deepen your meditative practice and learn how to support and guide others? Meditation Facilitator Training and Contemplative Studies will be a reflective immersion that deepens and matures your path and continues to add inspiration to your preferred meditation practice.

Training in meditation differs from the preliminary yet essential foundational stages of relaxation. Training in meditation, we take the step to go more gently and deeply into practice, turn toward and transform our fears and our anxieties – like turning compost into insightful wisdom and recognising what is innately possible within us. There is a fundamental human side to grounding in this form of mindfulness meditation practice. The challenge is knowing how to create a boundary for yourself once you find that ground - protecting yourself against all the seduction, coercion, pressure, and habituation that lures you from that ground back into whatever space you were in before. It takes some perseverance to make the shift.

This Meditation Training and Contemplative Studies program can be likened to an urban retreat immersion. A period of focused practice interspersed with contemplative practice and daily meditation will enrich your experience and reignite momentum.

Having just returned from a meditation retreat, I'm feeling enthusiastic and passionate about sharing the benefits of creating an intentional boundary to deepen your practice. And, there is a supportive energy when connecting and practising in a group of other meditators that can’t be underestimated. I'm excited to share my Meditation and Contemplative Studies program with you.

Who is it for?

The program is for anyone interested in making meditation accessible and effective amid life's flow and challenges. It is much more than an intellectual study of contemporary meditation or meditation purely as a relaxation technique. We will embody the practices – they are highly experiential, accessible, and easy to do.

The live-interactive program offers a modern adaptation of traditional contemplative teachings, insights, and skills without losing their essence. The course material and practices emphasise direct experience, including clear instructions on progressive stages of meditation and clarification of common challenges that can come up in your practice (such as boredom, emotions, and discomfort). We will also explore how you can bring this practice of presence into your everyday life—learning how to transform habitual patterns, stress, and anxiety into clarity of mind, resilience, and equanimity. 

Within the boundary of an immersion we will have time to be with ourselves, allow daily mental chit-chat and demands to soften and invite the sane, fresh, embodied experience of presence to move to the foreground of our awareness. 

ACCREDITED FACILITATOR TRAINING. For those seeking Professional Certification as Meditation Instructors, the MMCSTT program is for anyone who is keen to dedicate some time to deepening their meditation in a manner that allows it to be transformative. During this six-month program, you will learn how to safely and compassionately guide others while developing continuity and insight in your practice. This training is accredited by the Meditation Association of Australia.

YOGA NIDRA CERTIFICATION PHASE 1 is also included in this training. 

Time commitment: The training is offered over 6 months, one weekend each month.

Friday 7-9pm, Saturday 1 - 4.00pm, Sunday 9 - 1pm including frequent breaks (Australia time)

What does it involve?

Through this accredited Program, Michele will enable you to find refuge in an enduring awareness practice of mindfulness, meditation and philosophical study.

  • Live-Online (not pre-recorded). The opportunity to practice together is so important, but we can’t expect those further away to travel to a single location every month. From experience, offering in-person courses for decades, even with the best intentions to attend in-person, inevitably unexpected circumstances (health, family, travel) can prevent that. So, every session is recorded and uploaded to my Thinkificlearning site, where replays and course materials are accessible immediately after each session. There are two opportunities for those who choose to come together in person, but it is not a requirement.

  • Each session will consist of a talk, contemplation, interaction with Michele's 'Course Workbook' or recommended text, and 5-20 minutes of guided meditations interspersed through each session.

  • Plenty of opportunities for group and personal Q&A

  • What happens if you miss part of the weekend training? Each session will be recorded live for later viewing if you cannot attend.

Training Dates (REGISTRATIONS CLOSED)

February 3 & 16,17; March 1-3, April 22-24, May 19-21, June 17-19, TBC either 14-16 or 21-23 July. There is one group-led 20-minute meditation practice session between each formal training weekend – participants decide together on the best timing for that.

Accreditation

The full accredited 80-hour Program is designed especially for people interested in deepening and enriching their personal meditation practice and as a foundation for those wishing to become certified meditation instructors. This Program is for everyone, not only participants who want to teach others. If you participate in personal development, there are no homework or presentation requirements. If you are seeking professional accreditation, you will be required to complete all 3 sequential phases and some light, enjoyable study and practice requirements.

Here, you will find some preparatory reading, recommended course texts, articles, and videos to inspire you. Closer to the course starting date, you will have access to the Course Workbook. All Zoom meetings and post-session recordings will be available on your account.
